Carrot Apple Classic

Preparation time: 5 minutes to prepare, 5 minutes to juice

Yield: 3–4 servings

Here’s a live food classic whose vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients provide your children with the energy they need to grow. It also makes a great introductory juice for anyone trying to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Its cool, mildly sweet, refreshing taste is the good life in a tall glass. By the time you finish slurping through your straw, you won’t even remember the name of your favorite soda pop.

1 medium head romaine lettuce, washed well and with leaves separated

1 pound carrots, tops removed and cut into halves lengthwise

2 large apples, cored and quartered

1. Place a 4-cup-capacity liquid measuring cup under the

juicer spout. Bunch up the lettuce and push it through the juicer feed tube, alternating it with the carrots and apples.

2. Pour into glasses and serve.


The lettuce will need to be pulsed through a juicer, alternating it with the remaining fruits and vegetables, or it will become stuck in the juicer.
