 Chocolate Cake Pops Recipe

Cake pop is a very cute small round cake covered a sweet coat. It is difficult to distinguish between a cake pop and a lollipop if you just glance at their appearance. Cake pops are made from crumbled cake mixed with frosting (Cream cheese or mascarpone really gives a great structure and flavor, try them!), rolled and dipped into melted candy or chocolate. Although their ingredients are simple, they can absolutely become nice “artworks”. That is up to your creativity.

Cake pops will be a featured treat for special occasions like Christmas, Birthday or many others celebrations. We can shape them into balls, hearts, stars, etc… and choose favorite taste of their core. To decorate, you don’t definitely have to sprinkle sugar sprinkles . You may add some details from various ingredients to turn normal cake pops into lovely characters, animals or things. Those stunning tiny colorful objects are certainly attractive to kids at first sight. Nonetheless, the chocolate cake pops recipe I offer now is not a complex new version, just a basic one – this is easy and delicious enough for everybody to make it.

Chocolate Cake Pops Recipe

Ingredients (Makes 8)
– 175 gram ready-made sponge cake (chocolate or vanilla flavor)
– 70 gram ready-made chocolate fudge frosting, at room temperature.
– 175 gram yellow or pink candy melts
– Star-and-polka-dot-shaped sugar sprinkles, to decorate
– 8 cake pop sticks
– Crumble the sponge cake into a bowl. Add the chocolate frosting and beat with a wooden spoon until through mixed. Use your hands to divide and shape the mixture into 8 firm, walnut-sized balls.
– Place the balls on a plate and put in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, place the candy melts in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water and heat until just melted. Remove from the heat and stir until smooth. Leave to cool for 5 minutes.
– Remove the cake balls from the freezer. Dip the end of a cake pop stick in the melted candy and push into the centre of a cake pop.
– Using a small palette knife cover the cake ball will melted candy, then sprinkle liberally with sugar sprinkles.
– Stand in a tall glass and place in the fridge for a few minutes to set. Repeat with the remaining cake balls, melted candy and sprinkles.
 Tip for you:
– Remember to fill the tall glass with dried beans to stop the weight of  the cake pops from tipping the glass over.
