- 2 oz/150 g semisweet chocolate
- 2 oz/150 g white chocolate
- 1/1/4 sticks/140 g butter
- 2/3 cup/150 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/1/3 cups/200 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
To begin this recipe, preparing to preheat the oven to 350F/180C. Cut the chocolate into small chunks. Lightly grease two baking sheets.
Next, cream the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy. Beat in the egg and the vanilla. Sift the flour and baking powder together and beat into the mixture. Add the chocolate and stir until well combined.
After that, drop 5 to 6 rounded tablespoons of the dough onto each baking sheet, spacing well apart, as the cookies will almost double in size.
Finally, bake until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to five days.
