It will take you just 3o minutes to cook this treat but bring a surprise. Although there are some convenient no-bake versions of granola (such as place the mixture in the fridge after squashing it down, or blend the ingredients with hot caramel), I really feel that baked bars have a better structure. They are drier, more crispy and fragrant than no-baked ones.

Because most kinds of granola are quite sweet and dry, I usually enjoy them with a glass of green tea or orange juice. Sprinkling sugar-free yogurt over bars is another choice to harmonize its flavor.

Easy Blueberry Granola Bars

Ingredients (Makes 12):
– 50 gm pecan nuts
– 115 gm dried blueberry
– 225 gm rolled oats
– 40 gm soft light brown sugar
– 25 gm sunflower seeds
– 1 tbsp sesame seeds
– ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
– 115 gm butter (plus extra for greasing)
– 115 gm golden syrup
Step 1:Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Grease an 7×11-inche baking tin. Chop the pecan nuts. Put the blueberry, oats, sugar, nuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and ground cinnamon into a large bowl.
Step 2: Heat the butter and golden syrup in a small saucepan over a low heat until just melted. Add to the dry ingredients, stiring to coat thoroughly. Transfer the mixture to the prepared tin, smooth the surface and bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until golden.
Step 3: Remove from the oven and leave to cool for 2 minutes, then use a knife to mark into 12 bars. When the bars cool completely, cut through the marking to create 12 pieces. Don’t try to cut or remove it from the tin too soon.
– Some others dried fruits are used as a substitute for dried blueberries. You may also add more different nuts or seeds if desired.
